Our view was fine, even with being to the left, full set seen, and only a table in one of the wedding reception was out of view during one scene only. I would recommend and take these seats again in the auditorium.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Wedding Singer <\/em>Musical is based on the 1998 hit film which starred Adam Sandler, and Drew Barrymore. It tells the story of Robbie Hart, a wedding singer in the 1980s, who has his heart broken by his bride to be, having being left at the alter.\u00a0During his breakdown he meets Julia, a newly engaged waitress to her\u00a0money driven\u00a0boyfriend calls upon\u00a0Robbie to help her plan the wedding of her dreams &#8211; in hope to bring back\u00a0his hope in love, and weddings. Little did they both\u00a0know that it would end in them falling for each other.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/wedding-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-911\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/wedding-1-300x190.jpg\" alt=\"wedding 1\" width=\"300\" height=\"190\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/wedding-1-300x190.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/wedding-1-768x487.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/wedding-1-1024x649.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/wedding-1.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>With a hilarious storyline,<em> Wedding\u00a0Singer <\/em>is entertainment for all, and had the audience laughing. What I particularly loved was all the references to the\u00a0classic 80s themes, which you could\u00a0pick out throughout the show, some were directly given to you, character George a\u00a0reflection on the lead singer of Culture Club Boy George, and the impersonators at the end such as, Mr T, Billy Idol, Cyndi Lauper. But there were also the subtle<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/wedding-3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-912 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/wedding-3-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"wedding 3\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/wedding-3-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/wedding-3-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/wedding-3-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/wedding-3.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a> signs such as in the song &#8216; <em>Casualty of Love&#8217;<\/em> where the choreography\u00a0had\u00a0some of the classic moves from Michael Jackson&#8217;s\u00a0hit song <i>Thriller.<\/i>\u00a0Also they had\u00a0me hooked in the\u00a0very beginning with the introduction to the show, which was a reference to <em>Back to the Future\u00a0<\/em>where\u00a0Michael J Fox gets in the DeLorean Time Machine and from\u00a021\/03\/2017 we are\u00a0taken back to 1985 with the time board that\u00a0was used in the\u00a0machine projected onto the stage. Being my favourite Sci-Fi\u00a0trilogy that was a great\u00a0kick start to a great show!\u00a0\u00a0I highly commend the director and Choreography\u00a0Nick Winston with his direction on telling the story, being uniqueness to an era that the audience could relate upon, and remember.<\/p>\n<p>The Cast tonight were as follows:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Robbie Hart &#8211; Jon Robyns<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Julia Sullivan &#8211; Cassie Compton<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Glen Gulia &#8211; Ray Quinn<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Holly &#8211; Roxanne Pallett<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Rosie- Ruth Madoc<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Sammy &#8211; Ashley Emerson<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">George &#8211; Samuel Holmes<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Ensemble &#8211; Susie Fenwick, Tara Verloop, Paris Green, Erin Bell, Hannah Jay-Allen, Helen Walsh,\u00a0 Simon Anthony, Eamonn Cox, Mark Pearce, Andrew Carthy, Ainsley Hall-Ricketts, Ryan-Lee Seager.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The casting in this show was spot on, with everyone taking their roles in their stride, or steps for that matter, the Ensemble created various characters and worked well as a team. There dancing skills also great to watch, with each song they performed. Mentions go to Mark Pearce, who brought brilliant comic moments with his various characters on stage, and Tara Overlooks as Linda (Robbie&#8217;s ex Fianc\u00e9).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Wedding-singer-2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-913\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Wedding-singer-2-300x160.jpg\" alt=\"Wedding singer 2\" width=\"300\" height=\"160\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Wedding-singer-2-300x160.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Wedding-singer-2-768x410.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Wedding-singer-2-1024x547.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Wedding-singer-2.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The Two well known names of the nights would have been <em>X Factor<\/em> Finalist, <em>Dancing on Ice<\/em> winner Ray Quinn, and <em>Emmerdale&#8217;s <\/em>Roxanne Pallett playing Glen, and Holly. Rays take on Glen was perfect portraying the arrogant, money driven, wall street boyfriend to Julia, his song &#8216;<em>Its All About the Green&#8217; <\/em>which opened Act 2 with a bang was great to watch, I did not know he could dance like that! Roxanne Pallett was another soap opera casting that proved me wrong, and she looked natural on the stage bringing the role of Holly to life.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Ruth Madoc who played Rosie, Robbie&#8217;s Grandmother was such a delight to watch, with the sweetness that we<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/unspecified4.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-916 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/unspecified4-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"unspecified4\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/unspecified4-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/unspecified4-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/unspecified4-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/unspecified4.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a> all get from our grandma&#8217;s but yet has a the spunk and attitude with her amazing moves &#8211; watch out for the dab! And rapping skills you couldn&#8217;t miss her on stage! Then there was Robbie&#8217;s two right hand men Sammy played by Ashley Emerson, and George played by Samuel Holmes. Samuel take on the &#8216;Boy George&#8217; role had the audience laughing, I hope someone soon will have his quiche! Ashley&#8217;s Sammy also the audience was rooting to win back the heart of Holly even if his approach at times may not have been perfect.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Wedding-.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-910\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Wedding--300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Wedding\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Wedding--300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Wedding--768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Wedding--1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Wedding-.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Cassie Compton take of Julia Sullivan was her own, with little snippets of the original creator of the role Drew Barrymore displayed at times. Sweet and innocent her falling for Robbie was displayed beautifully with a voice that is soft and enjoyable to listen to, her duet with Jon Robyns\u00a0&#8216;<em>If I Told You&#8217; <\/em>I could listen to over and over again.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">Jon Robyns took on the leading man tonight Robbie Hart, following Adam Sadler in the film version, similar to Cassie he made the part his own. Having seen some reviews prior to my viewing to night it is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/wedding-singer-rob.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-914\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/wedding-singer-rob-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"wedding singer rob\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/wedding-singer-rob-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/wedding-singer-rob-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/wedding-singer-rob-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.rosereview.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/wedding-singer-rob.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>true what they say that Jon is a triple treat, his acting was spot on, his voice was great, and he could move like no other. He had the audience laughing, but also following him through his story, and hoping that it would get the happy ending Robbie Rightly deserved. Having seen Jon in many different roles in musicals, Robbie Hart is top character, and he really was perfect for the role!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">We went away with smiles on our face, as you are guaranteed a great night out when seeing this show. It was also a very special performance as there was a secret proposal on stage at the end &#8211; she said yes!!
